About me

I am a licensed therapist in the State of Illinois and have worked in the field of Mental Health for over 25 years and with a variety of populations. My therapy styles include Solution Focused, CBT, Behavior Modification and Mindfulness. Whether I am working with Individuals or Couples, in the initial sessions I help them establish treatment plans with goals and objectives directed towards resolving the issues that brought them into counseling. I was born and raised in Illinois where I currently work but I have also lived and practiced in Colorado and Wyoming. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Clay is very attentive and speaks in a calming voice. Normally I get anxiety about therapy but I felt very comfortable talking to him. Because I do get anxious opening up I think meeting every two weeks instead of every week might be more beneficially for me if betterhelp has that option.

I came into my first session with Clay with a lot of stress that had been building up, and I didn't really know what to expect from online therapy, so I was pretty nervous. I immediately felt at ease with Clay. I can feel that he listens to me and understands what I'm saying and what's bothering me. He's given me so much useful advice and strategies to use moving forward.

I know that not every therapist is for everybody, and I'm so glad that I was matched with Clay from the beginning. I go away from our sessions feeling better, and I'm really grateful for his help, his listening ear, and his kindness.
