About me

I have a strong passion towards helping others through loss, trauma, grief, confusion, and loneliness. There are many people that feel burdened with problems because they don't have anyone to talk to or haven't found success in seeking help. It's difficult to know where to start and taking that first step into therapy takes a lot of courage. When you take that step, you want to feel secure and trust that your therapist is non-judgmental and can listen. I have found that one of the best therapeutic techniques is the use of empathic listening and compassionate coaching. You can count on me to truly understand what you mean to say and then help you develop insight that will assist in emotional growth and behavioral change because you feel understood.

I use a lot of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) in my work and my premise is this: "What you think about how you feel, is why you say and do the things you say and do, all because of what you believe to be true about yourself and who you are as a person." I have been using CBT with great success and clients often tell me that I am unlike any therapist they've had before. I can help you understand your thoughts with more clarity, think about your feelings with more relief, and connect with your underlying belief system with more intention. I can also help you focus on strengths for change in order to say and do things you've never said and done before, and feel good about it.

My therapy style has proven itself helpful for men (and women that identify with men), including LGBTQ persons (and men that have sex with men), that have suffered in silence and find it difficult to seek and trust help. My treatment planning process is intensive and very insightful and can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, mood & behavioral problems, adjustment problems, and relationship problems. I specialize in Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma & Stressor Related Disorders, Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders, Bipolar and Related Disorders, and Gender Dysphoria.

I hope to work with you! See you soon. Clif

Clif responds to his clients needs very well. He is flexible and very compassionate. He has help me identify things other therapist I have used had not. I look forward to continuing to have him on my team during my road to recovery.
