About me

I am a therapist with 20 years experience providing trauma informed therapy to adolescents and adults. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including PTSD, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse survivor, sexual abuse perpetrator, career challenges, many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My therapy style practical, client centered and non-judgemental. It is trauma informed meaning that i help clients make the connection between their current issues and past life experiences/challenges. In helping clients make the connection between current behavior towards other (violence, substance use, sexual aggression, risky behavior, poor choices etc.), and their past often to allows clients to find a more resilient solution to current problems. Often these past experiences do not meet the criteria for PTSD and often they not known to the client themselves. The technique i utilize most often is called EMDR which helps clients tap into their emotional part of the brain to expedite healing. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and motivational interviewing with EMDR to provide whole brained advanced therapy that goes beyond traditional cognitive behavioral therapy for those who are stuck. My model does not include homework, or re-exposing oneself to trauma but recreating challenging issues in your mind's eye, you will not be required to retell your trauma in detail for this modality to be successful. This will allow me to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

Thanks for considering me as your therapist and taking the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step,

I look forward to working with you!

Connie is a really amazing, gentle therapist. I was worried that Online therapy would render the therapists less receptive, but I am so happy that Connie makes up for that with her talking style and the modality that she uses!
I think she has a nice breadth of knowledge and is great at moving at the client's individual pace.
