About me

Hello!

My name is Corey Thompson and I appreciate your consideration. I have been a therapist for ten years and Graduated from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and an emphasis in Community Mental Health. I currently provide in person therapy in Oklahoma (LPC). And telehealth in the state of Washington (LMHC). The hardest and most important decision you will ever make is to invest in your emotional, physical and mental wellness. Our work will create a safe space in the world for you to explore the difficult thoughts and feelings that are preventing you from experiencing your most authentic self through a well rounded and holistic approach.

With over a decade of experience working with individuals across the spectrum of care for those dealing with life's challenges. I have extensive training in Substance Use and mental health diagnosis as well as specialize in exploring sexuality, sex, sexual fulfillment, sexual function and building a connected and fulfilling life.

My focus in working with you is to develop a plan that will help you impact and expand your skills and strategies to manage your symptoms, overcome obstacles and build a strength based positive approach to your daily life. My approach is Positive, Person Centered and Solution Focused to meet you where you are at and help you manage your emotional experience better and change behaviors and responses that are impacting your daily life. Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Corey Thompson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I am working with a therapist that I absolutely LOVE! He is a perfect fit. He can relate to me and always helps me to reframe my mind and see a different perspective. He has given me advice that only someone who really knew me would be able to give. We chat weekly on the phone and he remembers me, my situation, even some of the minute details that I had forgotten about. BetterHelp has changed my life and saved me from a dark place in my life. The app is easy to use, uses FaceID or a PIN on iPhones, has secured connections (I'm an IT guy,) and is pretty inexpensive in comparison to paying a $100 copay every week. There is a journal feature that is private but you can share specific entries with your counselor, mine actually reads it and offers feedback. There are also a variety of groups and other resources, although I haven't used them yet. All in all: Inexpensive, secure, great personality matching, tons of resources, and a genuine connection with a real person. 10 out of 10 - would recommend.

Before meeting Corey, emotionally I was at the lowest I think I’ve been in my 44 year journey. First, Corey and I speak the same language, and that helps us to better connect. The way he is able to breakdown and help me to see my behaviors has been valuable to my self esteem as I’m able to better identify things I’m doing right. The areas where I can be stronger, he provides me with videos, tools, and exercises to develop those areas. Corey provides me with a lot of positive reinforcements, even when discussing my challenges. Most importantly; I feel heard, understood, and supported. He is by far the best counselor I’ve worked with, and it is clear to me through our work that he cares about me as a patient, my success, and his role in helping me get there. Thank you Corey, you know your a rockstar... Peace Out!
