About me

Hi! My name is Courtney Chott and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I currently reside in Colorado, and have my license through the state of Arizona. I have over 5 years of experience working with Veterans and their families and started working for Betterhelp in January of 2020. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, and I have also helped many people who have experienced trauma or abuse.
I am a certified Cognitive Processing Therapist, which is the main intervention I use. Cognitive Processing Therapy is a modality used specifically for people who have experienced trauma. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy for anxiety and depression. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic with mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

Courtney is one of the most patient and non-judgemental people that I have met.

I was really apprehensive of BetterHelp. An app for counseling? I was wrong. My counselor, Courtney, is absolutely fantastic. She listens to me and validates me without making me feel insecure. She responds and checks in on me when I’ve been having a rough day or week; she genuinely cares! Courtney has given me great tools to use in the moment and has been instrumental in shifting my thought patterns. Courtney and BetterHelp are truly amazing.

Courtney is exactly what I needed in searching for a counselor I feel listened to and acknowledged. She's very real and an actual person while maintaining a professional boundary. If there's a point where we're in a session and I've poured out so much I don't know what to say she doesn't belittle or judge its like ok let's possibly work on this tell me more about this. As much as I wanna be selfish and keep her to myself I can't lie I would totally recommend her to anyone.
