Though I am marriage and family therapist, I also have great interest in working with individuals. . I am an Adlerian/Jungian therapist who takes a holistic, narrative approach and specializes in depression, trauma, and disruptive emotions. I have been trained in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and EMDR. Having personally practiced meditation for fifty years, I take joy in coaching others how to be mindful. I will work with clients to challenge what Adler termed “mistaken beliefs” when necessary. Recognizing that we all have our own unique life histories and stories, I pride myself on being non-judgmental and supportive.
After years in the world of mass media, from writing to publishing to lecturing to satellite communications, I wanted to engage in the most individual, empathetic way possible and I have been passionately pursuing this second vocation for over a decade. I've spent many years working with adolescents, adults, groups, and also spent three years on the Minneapolis streets with the homeless. I've also lived in many different cities over the years, such as Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Denver, and even Tokyo. Given my broad background, I believe that I may bring a lifetime of experience and a certain degree of wisdom to our therapeutic work

I really appreciate this service, it helps be not burden my friends or others with my issues. I also like people not being in my business and having a neutral area to communicate. The texting for me is nice and the feedback is good as well. I’m happy with this service.
Chris is thoughtful, funny, eloquent, and supportive. Looking forward to continuing our work!
I knew I selected the right counselor after just a few minutes with Cris Roman. He has been very helpful and a very good listener. This is my first time in counseling and wasn't sure about how it works. Although I have had only two sessions, I feel very encouraged and my outlook is improving already. We still have much to discuss and I am enthusiastic about cutting through to the root of my problem, knowing it is a factor in all of decisions and outcomes, He is very easy to talk to.
Cris is a great therapist. He has some valuable experience and says things how they are without sugar coating, which I like a lot. He helped me with my concerns and gave me some great advice. Strongly recommend Cris!
My experience so far with Cris Roman has been very positive, reaching to the core issues of our marriage and the areas we need to work on as individuals.
He’s really intuitive. He can connect things from my past in how the way I’ve been raised affects me now. He really is helpful in validating my feelings. I appreciate how knowledgeable he seems and how he focuses on me in a way that I can better myself. Because sometimes, therapists I’ve had would only listen and I wouldn’t be able to get better or work on things. So far my experience with betterhelp and how I’m able to message Chris anytime and schedule phone calls has been really good.
Amazing, excellent feedback skills, supportive of strong women, willing to level and be human. I appreciate the clarity he has helped me find, and gratitude for who I am and to become. Much gratitude.
Very supportive and intelligent professional.
Cris is always attentive and always provides me with insights that I've never considered. I never feel like he's trying to lead the conversation. He lets me express my opinions and adds where he can. His perspective seems very well thought out and professional, and I always come away with something new to think about. He is teaching me how to be more mindful and empathetic. So far it feels like a great fit.
Cris is very easy to work with. He listens to my concerns and helps me find ways to address my issues.
