Though I am marriage and family therapist, I also have great interest in working with individuals. . I am an Adlerian/Jungian therapist who takes a holistic, narrative approach and specializes in depression, trauma, and disruptive emotions. I have been trained in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and EMDR. Having personally practiced meditation for fifty years, I take joy in coaching others how to be mindful. I will work with clients to challenge what Adler termed “mistaken beliefs” when necessary. Recognizing that we all have our own unique life histories and stories, I pride myself on being non-judgmental and supportive.
After years in the world of mass media, from writing to publishing to lecturing to satellite communications, I wanted to engage in the most individual, empathetic way possible and I have been passionately pursuing this second vocation for over a decade. I've spent many years working with adolescents, adults, groups, and also spent three years on the Minneapolis streets with the homeless. I've also lived in many different cities over the years, such as Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Denver, and even Tokyo. Given my broad background, I believe that I may bring a lifetime of experience and a certain degree of wisdom to our therapeutic work
