About me

Being a therapist is rewarding, I feel that it is a privilege to help others work through vulnerable moments in their life. I get personal satisfaction from seeing client's transition into life with hope, peace and happiness.

I studied at Cal State San Marcos to obtain a Bachelors degree in Sociology, which is the study of people in society. Sociology focused on how a person's environment shapes them. I then studied at University of Phoenix and obtained my Masters Degree in Marriage Family Child Therapist. In my master's program I learned a lot about human behavior and therapeutic interventions to help serve individuals in therapy. I completed an internship of 2,000 hours and was supervised by a license clinical supervisor. Once I graduated and completed my internship I took two state test with the Board of Behavioral Science to test my clinical knowledge and law and ethics. After passing both my Clinical exam and Law and Ethic exam I became License as a Marriage Family Child Family Therapist.

Since 2013, I’ve worked with people struggling with a wide range of mental health issues. I began my therapy career working in a non-profit organization working with adults with severe mental illness. In that non-profit organization I worked as a Clinical Therapist in the office and on the field, making home visits. I also have experience working at a crisis house which is a step down treatment program from the hospital. I have worked at San Diego County Mental Health Hospital. I am currently working with San Diego Detention facility and practicing privately.

I understand that this might be an adjustment and that you feel alone. I want you to know that I am here in your corner to help you overcome this transition in your life. Our sessions will start by exploring what you envision your ideal life to look like so that we can explore goals to work on while in session. It is my goal to help you gain clarity on what you want in life; so that you can reach your highest potential. I will be here to support you and challenge you beyond your comfort zone. When it comes to therapeutic modalities I use an eclectic approach. What that means is I tailor therapeutic interventions to fit the need of the client I work with. Some of the therapeutic interventions I use is Cognitive Behavioral Intervention, Solution Focused Intervention, Attachment, and Psychodynamic. I look forward to speaking with you so that I can create a tailored fit treatment plan to fit your needs.

Crystal is a great listener and gives good advice. She is caring and understanding and does not judge. I feel completely safe sharing things with her that I may not tell other people.

I worked with Crystal for several weeks, in that time she was extremely kind and attentive. Her constant listening and interest in my process made me feel safe. She provided the space I needed to vent and really put my walls down. I will forever appreciate the mark she left. It may sound dramatic, but I feel like I came across her at a point where I really needed help. Thank you Crystal. I will miss you.

I think Crystal and the Better Help app are amazing! I have been recommending it to everyone I know! I feel like Crystal really gets me, and the app is so easy for my lifestyle, especially during shelter in place, but I will still continue using it after covid is long gone!

Outstanding!! She helped my boyfriend and I save our love and relationship by realing with us as individuals and a couple. She is an awesome listener, highly intuitive and trained, empathetic, patient and professional! We learned so much in a short period of time and constantly are utilizing strategies she introduced to us. Crystal is also extremely flexible often times meeting with us on the Saturdays and Sundays.
