About Me

Hello my name is Curtis Wade Smith, M.S., LMFT –Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA, BBS, LMFT License #102916) in San Francisco specializing in couples & individual counseling. I maintain a private practice conveniently located in the heart of the City’s Castro district across from Molly Stone’s on Eighteenth Street. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong ability to provide sensitive and insightful care. I offer therapy sessions for individuals, couples, and groups, with people from diverse ethnic, cultural, economic, sexual orientation, gender identification, and social backgrounds. I have a Master of Science in Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Francisco State University. I have worked in a variety of settings with straight and gay couples and individuals, including children, teenagers and clients of all LGBTQI identities. My experience also include work with Couples & Individual clients who suffer from addiction, anxiety, depression, severe trauma, sexual abuse, interpersonal issues professionally, grief & loss, shame, guilt, internalized homophobia and/or struggles with other life issues.

Curtis is a fantastic therapist. We have been working together for a year. Weekly sessions. He is a wonderful listener. He has helpful feedback. He’s very patient and asks questions that make you think. He’s amazing!

Curtis is patient, gentle and kind but still says what needs to be said. He is supportive but also suggest activity’s and ask questions to challenge your beliefs that may or may not be working for you. I highly recommend him.
