Cynthia Myers, LSCSW
About me
Hi, I am Cindy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience. I received my Master of Social Work through the University of Kansas where I focused on children and family dynamics. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings to include group homes for disabled adults, secure care units for runaway youth, family preservation systems, foster care, and most recently a correctional setting.
The common theme through all of my work and volunteer experience as a social worker has been to help others. I enjoy assisting people in understanding personal struggles and finding a way through the darkness. I believe we all struggle with things in our lives where we can use guidance, I can provide the guidance you seek. Whether you are struggling with trauma, relationship issues, grief or loss, addictions, or life changes; I can help.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization for treating trauma, Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating trauma and insomnia, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focused on a host of other issues.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating others with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step can be challenging, but I am here to help you through. I look forward to working with you soon!
