Hello! My name is Daina Norusis and I am a Licensed Clnical Social Worker in Chicago, IL. I received my Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago where I specialized in mental health with a clinical focus in children and families. I am currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Art Therapy from Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, IN. I firmly believe Thomas Merton who says, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” I have experience working in community mental health, case management, individual counseling, and assessment with individuals ranging from 8 years old to 80 years old! I also have much non-counseling volunteer experience that helps my ability to see from varying viewpoints.
While my therapeutic techniques and overall stance is eclectic, I draw most from the fields of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT), Task-focused, and Solutions-based approaches. I always approach each session from a strengths-based perspective and look to you as a partner to collaborate with. I will not solve your problems for you, but together we can definitely make a difference.
I do not take lightly your decision to share parts of your life with me and feel honored to be let in during this time in your life. I can’t solve your problems for you, but I am confident that together we can tackle anything. You are stronger than you realize and I have no doubt that regardless of how you may feel, there’s a confident little kid inside you simply waiting to see the light of day. So keep on, keepin’ on, Warrior! Your journey is just getting started!!!
Thank you for your time, now let’s dive into what brings you here!
- Stress, Anxiety
- Self esteem
- Bipolar disorder
- Compassion fatigue
I also have experience in Addictions, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Grief, Parenting issues, Anger management, Career difficulties, Coping with life changes, ADHD

I am a bit new to online counseling but Daina has made it a smooth transition. What I have enjoyed about working with her is that she not only listens intently about what I have going on but she helps me to dig deeper by asking questions and offering proactive tools for dealing with the issues that arise within my life.
