Dan Duval

About Me

I have been in the counseling field for over 25 years and work with people from all walks of life. I see adults and youth (middle school and up). I work extensively with people who have been exposed to trauma and experience anger, anxiety and depression. I have training and experience with people from LGBTQ, Trans, Poly and BDSM and other marginalized communities. I believe that people have the answers to their own questions inside of themselves and work in tandem with clients to discover their own solutions in a respectful partnership.
I practice with acute sensitivity to cultural concerns and do not assume one's experience based on appearance or place of origin. I have worked with those who experienced abuse from religous communities and churches. I work with those who have been alienated from their families, countries of origin, religions and other significant cultural groups.
I understand how important it is for those who have been marginalized to feel safe and accepted in a judgement free zone. I work to created a safe and comfortable environment and will work at your pace. Give me a call or email to see if we're a fit.

Reviews

Written by S.H. on May 22, 2020 after counseling with Dan for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, addictions, lgbt, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, self esteem, anger management, and coping with life changes

As we have only had one live session, it is difficult to give a full and accurate review. Overall, I'm extremely pleased. I feel heard, he asks poignant and relevant questions that help me think, he let's me have my space to feel. I think I was lucky and we will be a good match as patient/therapist.
