About Me

I come from a clinical mental health background with expertise in motivational interviewing, mood disorders, and grief and loss. When others might ask why would you want to work with Dan? They'd reply "he's extremely non-judgmental, wants to work on goals that the client desires only, and makes me feel like I can overcome obstacles that have been in my way."

I'm going to ask questions like what matters most to you? What do you live for? With the idea to support your mind, body, and spirit for your behaviors and goals consistent with your values system!

Currently I work full time as the MH Team Lead therapist at a Veterans Affairs department. I also do part-time therapy practice in the community. My specialties come in the form of trauma and abuse, depression/anxiety disorders, and grief and loss. I have expert certificates in motivational interviewing, stress disorder, depression and certified as a grief therapist. I've been providing counseling services for about 10 years.

Daniel has been wonderful. He is such a good person to allow later than expected sessions that fits with my crazy night shift worker schedule. He is very insightful and informative when it comes to his job and any questions I ask. I would recommend him to people I know.

All I can say is thank you Daniel!! He gave me the tools to counteract many destructive thoughts I was having which were wreaking havoc on my mental health. Through our conversations I was really able to gain a new much more constructive perspective on situations in both my professional and personal life.

Daniel was a huge help for me while I have been figuring out my priorities and true values in life. He is very kind and listens to what you have to say. Daniel isn't afraid to bring up something you may have to face, but I assure you it is done in a sensitive appropriate manner. I am very grateful for the help I received from him.

He has a very logical approach to problem solving. First, facts are put forward, then they are being analyzed which allows for me/ the patient to follow the thought process. When I don‘t understand (or don‘t want to understand) certain opinions and I repeat myself or bring up similar issues again, I am met with a different perspective on them, so he is very understanding but also flexible. And the whole conversation is made more casual by his humor (if the patient is responsive to that). Such a positive experience!

He is so nice and friendly, took the time to listen and pin pointed my problems really fast. His advice is very strong and helped me every time, like his words are stuck in my head that wouldn’t let me give up. Awesome as a human being and such a professional in his work. Thank you Daniel for everything you helped me with and taught me.

Daniel has been very helpful and he listens to me. He gives great advice; even if I don’t want to hear it because I know I’m wrong and he’s right. He’s awesome! And he has my sense of humor.

This has been my first experience with online counseling. I was skeptical but my experience has been amazing and I can see myself doing this for the rest of my life, honestly. Daniel has been FANTASTIC. I expressed my concerns about online counseling and he understood completely. I feel comfortable being completely open with him and his reassurance feels genuine. It's so refreshing talking to someone who is actually passionate about helping people.
