Danielle Allen, LCSW
About me
Hi there!
My name is Danielle Allen, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana. I have several years of experience working in the arena of social services with 3 years of experience providing direct clinical (post-graduate) therapeutic services. Much of my education and work experience has been focused on problem issues related to eating disorders, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts. However, I also have experience working with grief/loss, adoption, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, suicidality, crisis intervention and problems related to change/adjustment.
The single most important factor in determining whether therapy interventions are effective and treatment goals and objectives are successfully met, is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I do my best to create a safe and comfortable environment for each client to feel free to share their thoughts, feelings, and difficulties. I have been told that I am very “down to earth” and I pride myself on maintaining authenticity with my clients. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to meet and get to know potential clients and determine whether I might be a good match for their unique therapeutic needs. In assessing and treating any client, I use a client-centered approach whereby each person is seen as a unique, worthwhile, intelligent, and lovable individual deserving of the chance to change for the better.
In addition to utilizing a client-centered theoretic approach with clients, I also employ evidence-based therapeutic practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing and experiential techniques. I have direct experience leading DBT, Addictions, and Eating Disorder therapy groups. I cherish having the opportunity to help facilitate and witness change among a variety of individuals.
I would very much appreciate the opportunity to provide you with a safe and tranquil atmosphere, free of judgmental and criticism, where you may feel some ease in sharing your personal experiences, private thoughts and emotions, and life difficulties. I commend you for taking the initiative to seek help as that already demonstrates a willingness, strength, and desire to make changes. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you!
