About Me
I am a board certified dually licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Nevada. I have been providing therapy since January 2015. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor as designated by NBCC (National Board for Certified Counselors.) I also have experience supervising and training interns and currently hold the title of Clinical Supervisor for a local mental health agency.
My main area of interest and additional training is trauma, including Complex-PTSD, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, sexual assault/abuse, and other forms of trauma and abuse. I utilize empirically-based methods to treat trauma, including cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy (among others). I have experienced great success with many of my clients who have been affected by trauma.
Counseling is a collaborative process. It takes times. My hope is to guide you through your journey while allowing you to remain in the driver's seat.
I am warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental. My philosophy is to meet my clients where they are with open arms. I want you to set the pace, and I will never force you to move faster or into territory you are not comfortable with and ready for. We will forms goals collaboratively and make sure that we are working on what is important to you. I take a holistic approach to therapy, with the goal of empowering clients. My approach is rooted in cognitive behavioral theory, as well as attachment theory, solution-focused theory, existential theory, and dialectical behavioral theory. I am also trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
I have treated a number of conditions, ranging from depression, anxiety, and trauma to substance use concerns. I have worked with many individuals who have been effected by trauma. I have worked extensively with the unhoused population, substance users (including IV users), the HIV-positive population, incarcerated and/or recently released individuals, as well as children involved with the CPS system.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Danielle Turner. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Danielle has been so supportive for the over a year I’ve been working with her. Her simple responses that trigger so much thought and make you question my beliefs is amazing to change my perspective and helped me become my own person and supported me through an very abusive relationship, getting over it and starting my new life with belief and self assurance.
Always on time for our meetings, and flexible with phone, and video calls. Thank you SO much for changing my life Danielle
Danielle is attentive, thoughtful, and very experienced. She always has suggestions that help me move forward in my growth. She explains things to me Ina very straight forward way that I find easy to absorb. I really appreciate working with her.
Working with Danielle has been life-changing for me. She has helped me to see links between patterns and behaviours that I have always just assumed were part of my personality, and has shown me pathways towards finally overcoming these. She makes sure that I am in charge of my own pace of change but she is fantastic at gently keeping me accountable in areas I want to work on.
Danielle is fantastic and always has a way to challenge or extend the way I’m thinking that is always so helpful.
Attentive, responsive, and genuine.
Danielle is an excellent therapist! She is kind, empathetic, and patient. I noticed a significant improvement in my mental health over the course of our sessions. She is incredibly communicative and I felt that I could reach out to her any time between sessions. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in seeking therapy!
She is a patient counselor.
Danielle Turner has been professional and timely. We are early in the interaction, but so far I am very happy.
I've been working with Danielle Turner for a little over two weeks and I did not know what to expect when I signed up for counselling. She is understanding and she knows what my issues are and she is working with me to solve them. She responds in a timely manner and I trust her expertise in dealing with my issues.
