About Me

Welcome to BetterHelp!

People come to therapy for many reasons, including feelings of anxiety and depression. I try to do what I can to create open communication so that we can start to create goals and work on removing obstacles. I want this process to be worthwhile and something where therapy isn't seen as a bad experience. I work with warmth and non judgement to create a safe environment so that you can talk about all of your concerns and ask any questions.

My counseling style has been described as warm, blunt, and with a sense of humor. I usually ask many simple questions, because I want to help people reach their own conclusions. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I also feel that it is important that people know all of their options before they make decisions.

I believe that our past has a big impact on how we act now. I specialize in trauma work, so I do often see things through the lens of how trauma may be impacting us. My approach tends to be a cognitive behavioral modality. So I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing techniques. But I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, since I see counseling as helping people help themselves.

When I'm working with someone, my ultimate goal is to give them enough tools so that I am essentially working myself out of a job!

I try to respond to messages as often as I can, which means that I am typically responding 1 to 2 times a day. Even though I do respond often, I don't have the ability to always immediately respond. This means that if you need consistent immediate assistance, a crisis call center or face to face counseling is more appropriate for you.

I have a decent availability during weekdays for live sessions. I do what I can to accommodate people, but I am willing to refer if my availability for live sessions does not work for people. I want to help people see counseling as a positive experience, even if that is with a different counselor than myself.

I am looking forward to going along this journey with you!

I really like how easy it has been to discuss topics with Danielle. She does a great job giving analogies if I don't quite understand something. We have used the online messaging and have had phone sessions, and I really like having the options that are available through BetterHelp. It has been a great experience and I would definitely recommend to my friends.

I take time to reveal a lot of things to people. But Danielle has helped me ease into the process of sharing. Day by day, and little by little. I feel like just sharing and listening to the little advices has helped me think for myself regarding my current situation. Thanks Danielle. I hope to continue therapy with your help.

I love my counselor! I’ve been so busy lately that talking to a counselor hasn’t been an option until now! She gives great advice, asks all the right questions to help me figure out how I feel about situations. Amazing, simply amazing!
