Welcome! My name is Danna Anderson, and I am an LPC licensed in Texas and Connecticut with 10 years of experience. I create a safe, supportive, and objective space where people feel comfortable sharing. I am down to earth, comforting, open, and honest by nature. I take a person centered approach to therapy and believe that the most important part of the work we do is our relationship, so together we build trust and support.
My work is integrative in nature and treatment is tailored to a person’s specific needs. I have a holistic approach to the therapeutic process. Nothing inside of us is separate. When one part of us is out of balance it throws all of our systems off. Our health is directly related to our emotional and spiritual well-being. When a person begins to participate in their own healing process they become empowered and experience vitality.
I am a certified Yoga Aliance yoga teacher and can integrate yoga into therapeutic work, if desired. I have training in mindfulness practices, Buddhist psychology, self-compassion, somatics, mind/body integration, codedpendency, recovery, and trauma. Additionally I am a Reiki Master teacher.
I work with all kinds of people, and look at depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction as the ways in which people suffer. I help people with family conflict, self-esteem, parenting, and codependency as well as other issues.
I received my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston in 2008 and my BA in English Education and Secondary Education from the University of Delaware in 1997. In a previous life I was a High School English teacher. I have twin daughters.
