About me

Anyone can benefit from counseling. There are so many obstacles and challenges we face daily and learning how to tackle each one is key to a healthy, happy life. Deciding that you need a little guidance is not something anyone should be ashamed of. People seek counseling for many different reasons, As your counselor I understand that no two people are the same.

Have you been at a crossroads in life and you feel life’s journey has taken some unexpected turns? Do you find yourself stressed (sad or anxious) and unable to manage? Are you concerned that life continues to pass you by and you can’t keep up? Have you tried to solve the problems on your own and realize you need help? Maybe your relationships are struggling and have been hard to deal with lately? If any of these thoughts and concerns sound familiar, then you have made the first step in your Journey to Wellness. I know this is hard. You’ve likely been debating seeking help for months, if not years. But I’m so glad you found me and have taken this courageous step being here.

I’m confident that together we can work to help equip you with the necessary tools to help you face and overcome these challenges. Whether you’re struggling with stress management to include depression, anxiety, work and/or school related stress, grief and loss, or marital problems, it is important that you know you don’t have to be alone in this journey. I have the experience to help you achieve your goals, overcome these struggles, and live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

I understand no two individuals are the same, and I tailor our sessions together to address challenges unique to you. We will work together to understand the root cause of your struggles and address those issues with long-lasting strategies, helping you get closer to the life you’ve always wanted.

ABOUT ME
My name is Dariea Stewart and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor. I started Journey to Wellness Counseling, LLC because we all get stuck in life and come to a crossroads not knowing which direction to take or how to deal with the pains and struggles life has thrown at us. As your counselor we will work collaboratively to tailor a treatment plan that will get you back on the right path. I use evidenced based Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy to aid in removing negative behavioral and thought patterns that give rise to problems in your life, helping you to become a happier, more fulfilled person.

I believe it is vital to meet you where you are and walk with you along your path. It is my belief that the counselor-client relationship is a crucial element to therapy. Journey to Wellness Counseling, LLC strives to facilitate an environment that is trusting, inviting, safe, and professional. By encouraging each client to engage in self-exploration so that they will come to a deeper understanding of themselves. Together we will work to identify healthier ways to cope with the thoughts, feelings, and life circumstances that are causing discomfort.

I am experienced in working with child/adolescents 10+, adults, couples, and families. I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in life.

“There is no greater honor, or privilege than facilitating the process of healing for someone, to bear witness, to reach out a hand, to share the burden of someone’s suffering, and hold the hope for their recovery” -Dr. Eleanor Longden

Dariea Stewart just makes me feel comfortable. I don’t feel judged at all no matter what embarrassing things I tell her. I would recommend her to anyone that needs better help counseling.
