About me

I am a Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). I have had clinical experience working with clients who experience trauma, loss and grief, disability, family issues, and body image challenges. I am a youth mental health first aid provider and trainer in adult mental health first aid response. I offer individual, child, and family counseling. I provide a holistic approach to counseling by addressing physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. I ensure the highest quality care is provided through an integrative, client-centered approach. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques to include cognitive-behavioral, psychoeducational, trauma-informed, mindfulness, and solution-focused. I promote personal growth by providing an atmosphere that is safe, accepting, and direct. I will hear you, validate your experience, and strive for your personal empowerment. If I am not the person to work with you, I will refer you to local area expertise where you may find a better-matched clinician.

Amazing therapist. She is fast to respond and communicates any time away months in advance

Dr. Groomes is my very first therapist in over 10 years, and my first interaction with online therapy as a whole. Not only do I feel empowered to speak my mind, I feel confident that no matter how hard, confusing, or anxious about the topic I may be, she will be able to help guide me through it, and help me know how to handle it the next time. I'm very thankful BetterHelp matched me with someone who's just as direct as I am, and after every session I feel so much lighter and ready to take on life.

Dr. Groomes is fabulous. Easy to talk too, helps me connect to the real issue I’m struggling with, and so supportive. Could not have gone through my year without her.
