Darlene Viggiano earned a PhD degree in Psychology from Saybrook University in 2010, having completed a Master’s in Psychology from National University in 1995. She has been an Intensive Outpatient Program clinician, case manager, and clinical lead supervisor at various stages in her career, with her license dating back to 1999.
Throughout her career, Darlene has trained paraprofessionals and students in therapeutic modalities for working with abuse, addiction, and other clinical concerns. Over the span of her practice, she has treated Adults Molested as Children, provided Batterers’ Intervention, worked with Dual Diagnosis, and handled both Infidelity and Perinatal Substance Abuse, as well as facilitating Anger Management, Couples Communication, Hypnosis, and Mindful Movement.
She holds certification in Clinical Hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and early on in her career had earned certification in Duluth Model Batterers’ Intervention. She also has provided presentations and workshops in Jungian and Transpersonal Psychology and has authored two academic books: Dreams and Dream-like Experiences: Their role in spiritual emergence processes, and Carrying On: A workbook for women who’ve lost a pregnancy.
Darlene is a member of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and has been a member of the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis as well as the American Psychological Association Division 30 (Hypnosis), from which she won an Early Career Contribution Award.
