Darlene Wilken, LPC
About me
I am dually certified as a mental health (LPC) and substance abuse counselor (SAC) and have been working in the field for six years. I began working in inpatient treatment working with addiction and mental health with adults over the age of 18. I am currently working in a methadone clinic with individuals suffering from opiate addictions and even though we do not specialize in addiction I am given those who have been diagnosed with mental health issues as well. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including bipolar, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting issues, and ADHD. I have also helped those who have experienced physical trauma and emotional abuse.
My therapy style is warm and interactive, I believe in treating everyone with utmost respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach to treatment combines mindfulness, motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, person centered, and solution focused therapies. I will tailor your treatment plan to meet your specific and unique needs.
I look forward to working with you!

I’d recommend Darleen to anyone she is caring and listens and gives great advise and programs to help you heal and move forward. I love having her as my therapist as I heal from the most devastating 2 years of my life

Darlene is so kind and understanding. You never feel judged and she explains so well that your fears don’t have to be your reality.

Validating, but challenging. As someone who tends to be information driven and, therefore, a bit of a know-it-all, the awareness of my issues is often the end of them in my mind. These cognitive blindspots have been challenged, and done so tactfully. I know awareness precedes control, but I need to be reminded that it's really the beginning.

Warm, understanding, and a joy to talk to. Darlene offers me the chance to speak freely about my concerns, and gives tangible assignments to do in the interim between sessions, which has helped me a lot! Of the therapists I've spoken with on this platform, she has been by far the best.
