Darlyn Martinez

About Me

I have 10 years of clinical experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, self-esteem, and ADHD. My specialization is in helping people reach their “best selves” in developing age appropriate skills in order to push through any “road blocks” in one’s personal development.

I am committed to building a collaborative relationship with you as you apply new tools towards your personal growth. You will identify your strengths, and we will problem-solve together. I am a genuine, caring therapist and throughout this process, you will feel understood and supported. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, interpersonal, and strength-based counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I tried therapy before and I felt like I didn't get much out of it or I felt like they didn't really care for me or my situation. Then I was set up with Darlyn and it has been life changing. I'm not very religious but I feel like Darlyn is like a guardian angel guiding me through my thoughts and emotions leading me to a place of peace.

Ive always known and told myself that therapy will help no matter who you are. A lot of people see therapy as something scary or meaning there's something wrong with them and i couldn't disagree more. Especially with Darlyn's help; she has made me see and look at things in a new perspective and light. I am in a much better place mentally and emotionally after a few months of seeing her and am glad i did. You can tell she really cares and wants what's best for you.

Darlyn "got me" from day one. I tried therapy 3 previous time and never really clicked with the process or therapist. My inability to cope with my feelings and circumstances brought me to Better Help and to Darlyn - and I am so grateful for it. Darlyn listens, understands, validates, but also challenges me and reminds me of the process and the self-work involved in therapy that only I can do. So grateful to have her!

We have only had one session for 30 min. So far it has been great to have someone to talk to and who gives me tools and information to help me with some of the issue I am experiencing.

Darlyn has changed my life in a very short amount of time. I had never participated in counseling before, but with Darlyn’s support I went from feeling stuck and anxious to having courage to initiate changes in my life, both minuscule and drastic. She offers incredible perspective and asks great thought-provoking questions. Chatting with her via messaging and our weekly sessions has become a great support system and I would 10/10 recommend her to everyone I know.

This was my first experience with counseling and I am so happy to have been matched with Darlyn Martinez. Darlyn is supportive and understanding and I feel like I was really listened to. Darlyn would interrupt a thought pattern that I kept repeating to myself and help me re-frame my thinking. I highly recommend Darlyn for her friendly but firm hand in addressing situations.

Darlyn Martinez is so personable and she really digs deep to understand the root of the problem. She listens well and she’s so easy to talk to. I always look forward video-chatting her. Since working with Darlyn, I have been successful in personal growth.

Darlyn is AMAZING!

She has a way of making you feel like you are chatting with a friend not a counselor. Tell her what you want to accomplish and she is there to support you. She helps by setting goals, giving great advice and a different perspective to make you stop and evaluate things you talk about.

Thanks Darlyn!
