About me

I am a client-centered, cognitive clinician with 7 years of experience providing compassionate therapeutic care to individuals and couples so clients can begin to understand how critically important it is to build healthy physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual practices as a path for healing.

I enjoy exploring with clients the unique interrelationships between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how they function together as integrated components of our ability to heal, grow, and thrive in our world. My desire is for each client to realize and fully appreciate that they are not alone. There are many others globally who travel similar paths to healing.

Healthy change is possible when the focus is on resiliency rather than on the challenge/obstacle. I am able to counsel a wide variety of psychological and relational concerns and I have a profound appreciation for the effects of life event adjustments on our ability to reach life goals and experience true fulfillment and joy. When beginning therapy, it is important that you and I both feel that working together would be a beneficial for you. Usually this entails meeting several times to discuss your particular concerns and to begin to get an idea of how we might work together. It is important that you feel comfortable enough to talk about things and that you feel the potential for growth through our interactions. The first session usually involves discussing goals and expectations for treatment and a plan to address challenges.

I am truly honored and excited to join you on this journey!

It has been a pleasure having Dr. Russ as my counselor for the past 7 months. He listened to me and helped me work through my struggles. I could tell that he genuinely cared about me and my well being. He went above and beyond as my counselor, and I consider him my friend and brother in Christ. My life has changed because of him. Thank you, Dr. Russ!

Darryl is accommodating, understanding, and empathetic. He is a neutral party to which anyone can give details of their lives, personality, and behavior and not be judged in any way. He is a wonderful man indeed!
