Daryl Essey, LCMHC
About me
Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself.
I counsel from a person-centered perspective that encourages the clients ability to recognize their own needs. I use motivational and cognitive behavioral methods and I am steeped in the disease-model regarding addiction counseling. I am committed to the idea that addiction is not a character flaw and know this from my own personal experience with addiction. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral methods which encourage client narratives that can be used in the recovery process. I have a decade of counseling experience and a decade of teaching experience.
I hold a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Texas San Antonio and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix.

Daryl is Greta. Empathetic and professional. And the advice he has and how he listens is deferent to other counselors, more personal, as if he cares.
