If you have arrived at this page, I already know two things about you. You are wrestling with an issue, and you are ready to address it.
The key to resolving your concerns is feeling comfortable with your counselor. Let me tell you something about myself, so that you can make an informed decision.
I started my career as a licensed clinician, now with over 5 years of experience, after over twenty years teaching sociology and social work at the university level. I both see private patients and work with hospice patients and their families. In my years as a therapist, I have treated depression, anxiety, trauma, redefinition of identity, grief, and end-of-life concerns.
Those that I have worked with would describe me as empathic and as helping them to gain insight and answers to the concerns that impelled them to seek counseling.
At the beginning, I believe that a video format is the optimal approach. I am also available by text and phone. Sessions are evenings and all day on weekends. I check my messages daily and reply as soon as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my background and approach.
All the best.
