About me

You can read more about my background, education, experience, and therapy approach by clicking on my name above our messages. You are one step closer to keeping that promise to yourself about gaining control of your unwanted patterns or behaviors. Every client has a story to tell and specific needs that bring them to therapy. Together we will develop and focus on understanding the forces that drive the need for those patterns or behaviors. Everyone has struggles in their life and everyone needs help along the way.
I hold an MS in Counseling Psychology, Addiction Specialist, and CCTP, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I myself have 35 years of recovery and have 30 years working in the field of counseling, Trauma, and Addiction. I use a collective approach which means I draw from all forms of therapy. I match and adjust to my client's needs.
My passion in life is to instill hope in my clients that they may reach their goals of change. I enjoy working with individuals, families, and groups that are motivated towards regaining balance and change in one's life. Together we will develop strategies and coping skills to help you reach emotional and physical freedom. I am compassionate about this work and feel I was called to do this work and to help others experience the world as an individual and in a collective way.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dawn Chandler. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dawn is the most incredible therapist I have ever worked with. I have received counseling for 10+ years from many different practitioners, and Dawn is hands-down the best. From our first session, she immediately knew, understood, and helped me to make sense of everything that was going on, and I was shocked and astounded at her insight into my life. Her extensive experience speaks for itself, and she also brought a cultural awareness and sensitivity that is really rare that I have never encountered before to this extent in her line of work. She supported me through a major life transition and helped me come out the other side with greater strength, clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose. I continue to be amazed and awed by her extraordinary dedication, service, and insight. She is simply the best!

I’ve had 10+ different therapists in my life for various periods for various reasons. Dawn is the most professional, empathetic and intuitive therapist I’ve worked with.

It feels like she is reading me like a book. She makes me feel seen and understood and provides guidance in a way that shows me I’m part of the solution, not just a broken human that needs fixing.
