About me

Hello~~
I am a LICSW, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, from Minnesota. I have been an out patient therapist since July 2017, and I provided adult mental health case management for 18 years prior to obtaining my master's degree and beginning therapy. The role of a case manager is to assist people in finding the tools and services to remain in the community and stay healthy. I have experience in working with people with depression, anxiety, bi-polar, schizophrenia, OCD, and a variety of personality disorders.
I enjoy all people and spending time building rapport and getting to know each other. I believe getting to know each other is as important as tool related to managing your mental health. I tell people they can ask me any question they want to ask. I will either answer it or explain exactly why I won't answer it. Relationships are an important part of trust and if you don't trust who you talk to no progress can be made.
My therapy style is open and honest. I believe in order to build a trusting relationship you have to get to know your therapist and believe the therapist is truthful. I treat everyone I meet with respect and I believe everyone has strengths and by identifying and highlighting the strengths goals we can find the tools to help process the problems people face. The therapy styles I use are solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. I am person centered and believe the client is in charge of the session and determines what they want to address and discuss. Seeking out therapy is a huge step and I will work to support you in your journey.
I look forward to getting the chance to talk with you and creating a positive relationship where we can work on what you need to process and address.
