About me

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 18 years of experience working with a variety of people in various ages and stages of life. At least half of my practice has been with singles and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse issues, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. I have also worked with many people who struggle with trauma and abuse as well as borderline personality disorder. I have considerable experience working with couples in marital counseling as well as parents (married or single) looking for help with strategies on how to parent their children and influence behavior.

I believe one of the most important components in having a successful therapy experience is the ability to establish a rapport with my clients based on respect, honesty and openness. If you do not feel comfortable your therapist or see them as competent and capable, it will be hard to open up, be vulnerable or trust them to guide you through a sometimes painful or difficult process.

Therapy is a partnership. I am hear to help you with whatever concerns you have. If I see possibilities for other things that could be getting in the way of your goals I will bring them up, but ultimately it will be for you to decide if it is something you want to work through. If you want my opinion or advice, I will give it to you. I am not a therapist who will sit quietly saying only, "ummm hmmmm" or "how does that make you feel"... I may invite you to look at a situation from a different perspective, challenge you to approach a problem in a new way, or suggest follow up assignments for you to do after our sessions. I believe that success comes from learning how to do something differently than what has been done before.

If want help to face things you have been avoiding, find new ways to tackle old problems, are tired of dealing with the same old problems and want a different life for yourself, I can help you. Often the most difficult thing about therapy is just making the decision to get started in the first place. Congratulations for taking this step! I look forward to hearing from you.

Spent over a year with Dayna and she’s really fantastic. Incredibly understanding and isn’t afraid to call me on my BS when she feels it’s necessary.

She is very professional. She reaches out to me when I am avoidant. One of my character defects. I’m really glad I found her in the comfort of my bedroom.
