About Me
When more of the same is not good enough, we change or suffer. Sometimes we feel stuck in our relationships, jobs, or Life. We often re-think the "same old story," maybe regret, guilt, trauma. I believe that you are smart and if you could "get out of your head", you would. This is the fault of the brain, which needs rebooting, as a car needs a tune-up. Engaging in a counseling relationship is this tune-up for the brain. Therefore, my highest intention for you is for a clear, mind where you can see possibility and opportunity.
My knowing the entire story of your past is not necessarily what will help you, in fact, it may do further damage to re-live events that no longer exist; therefore using symbols, colors and other sensory modalities to reach your unconscious brain gets to the root of the disturbance. Each person is different in their needs so if it is helpful to you, I certainly want to hear it. If not, we will start where you are now and proceed.
Once the need for change is identified and someone has decided to pursue counseling, half the work is done. I have noticed that people think about and search for a counselor, make an appointment and then cancel it. I feel that they have come so close to having a partner, me, or anyone else who appealed to them, and then changed their mind. If only they would give it a chance, it can be life changing, as it has been for me.
For me, joy is internal and soul - deep, whereas happiness is based on external circumstances that can change. Fifty percent of happiness can be attributed to genetics, per research, 10% of happiness is circumstantial (new car, engagement, a bonus at work) and 40% of happiness is within our power to enhance. (The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor) I believe we all deserve to be joyful and understand that happiness may come and go. If we are strong in our core, we can withstand any circumstance.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Deana Gozder. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Deana was wonderful and incredibly patient! She was willing to hear me out and help me get on the correct steps I needed to get on with my life. With her help I found the push to go and get a proper diagnosis for myself. She's wonderful, thank you so much, Deana.
Working with Deana has been wonderful. Her skills have been a great benefit to me and I have made a lot of progress working with her. She's extremely supportive both during sessions and in between sessions.

Shes the best
Deana Gozder is an exceptional therapist. She listens carefully and her responses, at the same time compassionate and practical, clearly reflect that she hears - and understands - what you are communicating.
Very professional
Deana has such a warm, kind, voice and spirit that just makes you feel at peace and reassures you when opening up about things that may not be easy to talk about. She won’t tell you “you just need to exercise more” or “just practice deep breaths, you’ll be fine.” If anything she’ll do deep breathes WITH you and walk you through every step of regaining a sense of peace. You can tell she really cares and values her work. I cannot recommend her enough!
Deana has been such a wonderful support and has helped guide me through seemingly difficult emotional and mental challenges with such warmth. Her experience and understanding are evident in her ability to help you transform a situation you start the call seeing no way through. I always look forward to our calls and feel heard, more at ease and lighter afterwards.

I have only know Deana a short time but she has already taken stock of my situation and offered sound advice. My compliments!
Deana has been awesome to talk with, responds quickly and even sends encouraging and thought provoking messages when I’m too busy to respond properly. After a few weeks I am feeling a lot better and am navigating my way out of the situations that had me so stressed!
Deana has helped me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. She pays close attention to my needs and she is very supportive and real! I respect her honesty and the time she puts into helping me. Definitely the best therapy I have gotten period.
