About Me

When more of the same is not good enough we seek assistance to move forward in a happier, more productive way. Sometimes we feel stuck in our relationships, jobs, or the "same old story" going around in our head. I believe that you are smart and if you could "get out of your head", you would. This is the fault of the brain, which needs rebooting, as a car needs a tune-up. Therefore, my highest intention is for the well-being of you, the client, and I will use every tool I have learned in my studies and experience to co-design the masterpiece of you.

My knowing the entire story of your past is not necessarily what will help you, in fact, it may do further damage to re-live events that no longer exist; each person is different in their needs. If it is helpful to you, I certainly want to hear it. Shifting understanding of the importance of events of the past and putting them into the context of memory, without emotional triggers, can serve as a catalyst (cause for a change) to move forward. Clients guide me in focusing on their values and strengths to move to action.
Once the need for change is identified and someone has turned to counseling, half the work is done and he or she has taken ownership of his or her path. My experiences with people in many settings, facing many challenges, allows me to have an appreciation of the difficult paths people traverse in their search for joy.
For me, joy is essential for happy living. I believe you deserve to be happy and I will do my best to help you discover what is buried inside you.

I am so grateful for having Deana as my counselor. I feel like she is very understanding of my problems and she is helping me come up with answers to what I'm going through.
