Greetings! I applaud you for thinking about starting therapy. Whether you have been involved in treatment or are considering it for the first time, I know it can feel difficult to start with a new person, so in the hopes of making that easier for you, I'll tell you a bit about myself.
I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. I graduated from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2009 and came to Wisconsin for my residency. I liked it so much, I decided to stay. I chose to specialize in Health Psychology after working in the medical field for many years, so in addition to conditions like anxiety/depression, other areas of specialty for me include gyne cancers, fertility preservation, infertility, chronic pain, grief/loss, and end-of-life issues.
I consider my relationship with patients/clients to be a partnership, and I would describe my style as respectful and supportive. My approach to treatment is derived from Patient/Client-Centered theory, as well as Cognitive-Behavioral and motivational techniques. I am also certified in the VA's Evidence Based Treatment for chronic pain.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Deana Wilson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. Wilson is an excellent therapist—compassionate, patient, very attentive to detail. I also appreciate that she is highly intelligent since I’m pretty well-read and in my head and trying to become more grounded. Definitely gives one a sense of emotional safety. Highly recommend.
Dr. Wilson has been absolutely incredible. I am so happy that i connected with her as she had helped me tremendously over the past few months!
Dr. Wilson is truly the first therapist I have ever had a positive therapy experience with. She is an incredible listener and provides amazing tips and advice. I'm so thankful we were paired together as she has been exactly what I needed with getting through some tumultuous times.
