I believe in marriage. In spite of challenges, it is possible to completely transform troubled ones into marriages of true friendship, trust, respect, and passion. My doctorate is in Marriage & Family Therapy (which is its own field). The question I help people solve is "What strengths and resources can we tap to make this work?" While the past is part of who we are and is on the table, the here and now is the main focus of therapy.
I am non-judgmental. I believe that everyone does and did the best they could to cope with what they are or were up against. But I also believe we all have the capacity to make wonderful changes -- if we want to. I address feelings, behavior, thoughts, and the context of one's life when helping people, but you are in charge of your therapy because you are the expert in your own life, not me.
My specialty is marriage and family therapy and although you can see me by yourself, I might suggest you include your partner in the therapy at some point. As estranged as people are, I would rather see them happy together (even if that takes work in therapy) than to break up, but the direction of therapy is always yours.
I have a private practice in New York and was also practicing in Florida.
I do want you to know that I am only available from Mondays through Thursdays frin 7PM to 10PM Eastern Time, approximately and I am not online from Fridays through Sundays. If that is all right with you then I would like to work with you. During those times that I am here to work with you, there are so many people wanting help that there is a chance that our messaging may be interrupted. For that reason, I recommend we "chat" if possible.
