Debbie Guilfoyle

(LCSW)

About Me

Hi, my name is Debbie and I am a clinical social worker in South Carolina. I have been licensed since 2001 and began my career working with at-risk youth. I have been in private practice since 2012 where I have continued to work with at-risk youth as well as young adults and adults who have been trying to cope with depression, anxiety, trauma, transitional issues, parenting issues, family stress, and various other stressors.

I believe that my clients have the answers within themselves and I partner with them to find those answers. I use various techniques to help my clients find those answers including some traditional cognitive therapy techniques as well as solution focused work. I also like to use some non-traditional techniques when and if possible. I believe that use of mindfulness skills can also help people shut out the every day noise that is interfering with them listening to their inner voice, and it is this inner voice that will lead you to the answers you are seeking. Above all else, I believe in a client centered approach, so we will work together to define what issues need to be focused on, what goals will help you move forward in your life, and the best way to work on those goals.

It takes a lot of courage to take that first step to making change and I would be honored to help you continue moving forward on this path.

Debbie listens and provides well-thought-out solutions. She is very helpful in identifying the true nature of a problem and working toward resolving it. I enjoy her personality, too.

Debbie is methodical in her work. She takes time to make sure she understands the situation before responding. We have not been working together for very long, but I am looking forward to what the future holds.
