About Me

Hi!

My name is Debbie Vessels. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN and my Master's from Indiana University/Purdue University (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, IN. I have experience in many different settings such as inpatient, hospital, college, outpatient community health, private practice and hospice. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families on issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse and difficulty adjusting to changes in life.

I am a firm believer in mind over mood. I believe our thoughts dictate how we feel, act and respond. As such, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to assist with identifying irrational thought patterns and how we can change them into something more positive. I also utilize strengths perspective. So many times an individual does not realize they have strengths so they are not utilized to make change. I rely on motivational interviewing and solutions focused as well.

I'm glad you have reached out and I'm ready to help!

Debbie is a wonderful counselor who helped me through years of pain and heartache. She gave me resources for coping with multiple different things, books, worksheets, and texted me if I had any problems or needed to reschedule last minute. She has been a joy to work with, challenging me to think deeply, and helping me every step of the way. Thank you so much!

Loved the experience with her.
Only wish it'd have gone longer. But financial pressure was why I had to quit. Because of corona virus situation the funding has been cut.
Nevertheless. She was a delight and heard me out. Thanks a lot for everything Debbie ❤️
