About Me
I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist in the state of Connecticut with over 11 years of counseling and coaching experience. I work from a variety of psychotherapy models and my specialty is in body-oriented or Somatic strategies. My degree is in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (2010). I currently work with an attachment based model helping parents connect with their kids by addressing and understanding the underlying needs just below challenging behaviors. I love working with parents and individuals in helping them move from overwhelmed to empowered.
My style is empathetic, compassionate and direct. I have extensive experience and knowledge in trauma-informed therapy addressing issues such as early childhood trauma and abuse, Narcissistic abuse, toxic relationships, and foster care experiences. I also have extensive experience with single parenthood, co-parenting issues, and divorce and separation.
Taking that step to speak with a therapist is the first step towards healing and empowerment. It takes courage and I am here to listen, guide and work with you to create goals that are unique to you and your life. I look forward to helping you move towards a more satisfying, fulfilling and empowered life.

Deborah has a great approach that is non judgmental and truly helps you to self reflect on your concerns. She is both knowledgeable and helps you to develop strategies to improve and be less anxious.
Awesome!
Deborah Butler helped me in life changing ways. The methods she showed me to control anxiety will certainly improve my life tremendously. I am very grateful that she is my counselor.
Deborah is so lovely. This is my first experience with talking to a therapist so I was very nervous & I have a hard time trusting people. As soon as we started our first video call I was shocked at how comfortable I was talking to her. She’s very supportive. Every time a session is over I can’t wait for the next one, it’s been very helpful. 10/10 would recommend Deborah, she also has very cute cats so that’s a plus.
Deborah Butler has been an outstanding support in my personal journey. Always warm, empathetic and kind, she has helped lighten my load and fill me with hope.
