About me

Hello, it seems you may be looking for a therapist to help you move toward hope. I am a psychotherapist specializing in talk therapy. I have been in private practice, independently licensed in Tennessee since August of 2008 as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked with individuals, children, couples, and families to help them with behavioral, cognitive, or emotional problems using diagnosis, evaluation and therapy that fits their need.
My Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Trevecca Nazarene University and a BS in Cognitive Studies from Vanderbilt University and now many years of experience, have prepared me to be well versed in many modalities of therapy that may be helpful in understanding how to help. I have treated anxiety, depression, family conflict,, low-self esteem, mood instability, challenging irrational beliefs, phobias, smoking cessation, PTSD, DID, other trauma, extreme situational effects, coping with life changes, caretaker burnout, abandonment, attachment issues, parenting issues, forgiveness, guilt, shame and betrayal, for a start. As a therapist I aim to be a listening ear that comes with tools in my kit that may prove helpful in viewing your story for clarity and even lead to changing the narrative toward hope and resiliency. From my viewpoint, therapy should be a helpful collaboration between client and therapist. We would be working together to build a safe and open environment where judgement is a stranger.

Clinical Approaches:
Solution Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Emotional Freedom Technique, Emotion Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Gestalt, Theotherapy, Psychodrama, the work of Salvadore Minuchin, Henri Tajfeld, Virginia Satir, Murray Bowen, John Gottman, Mustafa Sherif, Alan Godwin, Mario Rivera, David Schwartz, Richard Schwartz, the Arbinger Institute, Sue Johnson, Carl Rogers, Fritz Perls, Zerka and Jacob Moreno, Erik Eriksen, Michael White to name a few. Each of these methods play a part in my work with clients.

Years of Experience: since August 2008

I appreciate your time reading these qualifications and I hope I will get to serve you as a talking partner!
