I started my career in the helping fields right out of high school. I was a classroom assistant working with children living with severe and profound disabilities and their families. I became a teacher and spent a great deal of time with my students’ families. I developed a strong curiosity around family of origin and social justice influences on family and individual perceived potential and limitations. I studied at Drexel University and became a therapist with a systems theory and diversity as a resource background. I blend narrative and Bowen theory together to explore a person’s sense of self and functioning. I apply CBT techniques to “news of difference” to gain insight and influence on how one perceives oneself and identify steps toward person centered goals with the understanding that the goals are fluid as one increases self-understanding.

Deborah has a very good style of counseling, she is non judgmental and really set me on a path to heal instead of staying stuck in “get even mode”. I am very pleased to have been matched with her.

Being an ideal patient. Deb has the back ground to help my situation and the ability to offer solutions to them. I like that she speaks her mind and doesn't hold back. For real solutions and not just being strung along I'd recommend her expertise.

Debbie is a fantastic therapist. She actively listens, asking questions when appropriate while also letting me finish my thoughts whiteout interrupting. She offers constructive ideas about my concerns or anxieties, but she does so respectfully, without making me feel dumb or judged. I would recommend Debbie for those seeking to learn better emotional control, especially in the context of learning to be a better parent and spouse.
