Dr. Deborah Thibeault, LCSW
About me
Hello-
Since you are exploring providers on Betterhelp I gather you are seeking support for yourself or a loved one. That is the first step to turning things around!
There are many wonderful providers to choose from. Here is a little about me:
I have been a social worker for over twenty-five years. While working as a social worker with people who were homeless, people with HIV/AIDS, and with youth, I continued my education to become a clinician and professor. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2010 and in 2018 I received my Doctorate in Social Work.
As a therapist most of my experience is working in areas of trauma (particularly in areas of sexual and physical abuse), depression, anxiety, and working with family members of people who are addicted to substances.
My approach is strongly rooted in “starting where the client is”. That said, I see myself as a guide. I believe that you are your own expert and that my role is to assist you in finding solutions that work for you. Although, I am not a Christian counselor and do not claim a religion, I have a strong spiritual path and do believe it is important to explore one’s spirituality. If this does not connect for you, then that’s okay! It does not have to be included in our work together. However, if it does, then it is a part of your life that we can explore.
I wish you the best in finding the right match.
