About Me

Welcome,
My counseling approach is based on the belief that life events happen and cohesively working with clients toward self-exploration provides a gateway for unlocking his/her level of self-understanding, self-control, and self-awareness. In understanding human nature, it is my personal belief that people seek help when they desire change in their lives. As a therapist, I will work closely with you to find your inner resiliency and great strength. We will formulate goals and action plans to reverse the negative self-talk and begin a journey of empowerment. We will build a great therapeutic relationship together.

I am a licensed professional counselor with six plus years of experience. I have a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University and a master’s degree in Psychology from Capella University. I have worked in schools, jails, hospital inpatient, outpatient, suicide crisis centers, agencies and drug/alcohol rehab settings.

I am an eclectic practitioner. My therapeutic approach includes not only Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but also a humanistic approach. I hold the belief that we as humans want and need to strive towards reaching our full potential.

It is always hard to take the first step but now that you have done so, you're already on the path to feeling better.

Deborah has been really an amazing counsellor, who listens to my concerns and offers excellent advice. She has a really good balance between listening to my issues in a more general way and offering concrete, practical methods for dealing with them. She is good at helping me dig into the reasons for the way I am feeling and helps me to see my problems in a clearer way.
