About me
I am a Marriage and Family Counselor with over 30 years of experience, licensed in North Carolina and Georgia. I have extensive experience working with individuals needing help with depression, anxiety, impulse control, addiction, chronic and life-threatening illness, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship and family problems, stress management and job stress. My 20 years of experience as a manager and senior manager in the healthcare arena has enabled me to provide coaching for those wishing to develop/enhance leadership skills, improve professional relationships and a variety of workplace issues. Additionally, my over 30 years of experience as a yoga practitioner (and former teacher), has provided me with skills to help you develop mindfulness, better manage stress and feel more balance in your life.
My personal style is warm, supportive and engaging. I combine a variety of modalities, perspectives and techniques including cognitive behavioral, humanistic, client centered, existential, psychodynamic, solution focused and mindfulness. Good experience. Great at guiding me and keeping track of the flow of the session in regards to topics and time. Reviews notes and checks in about things that I mention to follow up and get a clearer picture. Offers solutions and strategies and provides ideas on how to incorporate them into my life. Provides positive feedback and offers accountability and encouragement.
