About Me

Hello, I am pleased to meet you. Deciding to put purposeful energy into personal growth is one of the best decisions a person can make. I know choosing a therapist is complicated, so let me tell you about how I work. I approach clients with a dual understanding of the need to make things better soon and to understand the deeper emotional system that created the need for treatment in the first place. I hold a developmental, cognitive and spiritual perspective that hopes to hold the whole person (or a couple) in a safe enough space to allow them to freely explore what is challenging them. I have been working as a therapist for almost 20 years now, and draw upon my training in trauma, EMDR Level II, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in John Gottmann's Scientifically Based Couple's Therapy Level I.
I believe in the pursuit of Second Best Dreams and having a life that is truly satisfying in the here and now, while also being open to what the future may bring. I look forward to joining you on your growth journey.

Debra is a great resource! I look forward to our meetings every week. I feel like she is good at leading me toward the root cause, guiding my awareness in certain directions and coming up with helpful ideas or resources while not being overly "solutions" focused. Mainly her sessions have led me to foster a deeper awareness of myself and why I have certain behaviors. She uses some nice examples, references theories/ books that I have found extremely useful. Overall highly reccomend.

Debra is very easy to relate with and talk to. She gives me support and never felt like she was judging me as we discussed my personal concerns. She is a very good ally to have, to talk to, or just having someone to listen and voice out one's honest thoughts. I would highly recommend her.

Debra is wonderful! She is a great counselor and an excellent first experience with therapy. She is kind and relatable, with good suggestions. Debra is good at simply listening, and at asking the right questions to get you to a good place before the end of a session. I can’t recommend her highly enough!
