About me

Welcome, and thank you for perusing my profile. I have had an interest in helping my community since 1981. I am a lifetime Michigan local and a three-time Eastern Michigan University graduate with experience at Washtenaw Community College, the Beaumont Health System and the Henry Ford Health System. I have my LMSW in Michigan.

I bring a wealth of personal experience to my clients, and I am particularly interested in helping creative minds find what they love to do. I am versed in Internal Family Systems therapy, a form of individual psychotherapy that explores your inner emotional systems. You may have heard of "your inner child". Well, you may be surprised to know we all have many parts that speak subconsciously, and sometimes disagree. IFS gets them talking. This approach is very introspective, and requires a great deal of trust between therapist and client. I intend to approach any I do work carefully, with an open heart and mind, and with curiosity and compassion.

I strive to be open and accepting of all forms of gender, sexuality and identity expression. I also am comfortable discussing disability, chronic illness, fatigue, stress, anxiety and adjustment issues. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions I can answer. You can also find my personal page at "Deena Baty, LMSW Counseling Services" on Facebook.

I'm interested in helping my clients live their best, most fulfilling lives. If you feel we would be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Deena Baty. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Deena has been a gift during the last year. She has a unique perspective and her guidance got me through the worst of the COVID pandemic, moving hundreds of miles, and changing careers. Her support and consistency have been wonderful, and given me more insight into myself. I would highly recommend Deena as a therapist.

Deena has been my therapist through Better Help for a few years, now. She has helped me through my final narcissistically abusive ex, and nervous breakdown from C-PTSD. As well as being my support and sounding board while taking care of my head injured Mum for a few years. Through the Pandemic, my Mum's failing health, and eventul hospice care of my Mother, ending with her recent death.
Deena asks good questions, and helps in so many different ways. When I was dealing with narcissistic abuse, and in the worst place mentally I had ever been, she knew how to talk to me so I would listen.
Her experience with end of life care made her able to completely empathize, and understand what I was dealing with. She continues to be patient when I miss appointments, and is one of the reasons I am a sane and functional human, in the midst of parent death, with an angry 19 year old, as I take care of an 18 month old, and my aging Dad. I highly recommend her. She will be able to help, no matter what you may be dealing with.

Deena Baty is a terrific counselor. I have learned a lot about myself with her guidance and advice. I feel like I can take charge of those aspects of my personality--specifically, my inner critic and issues I have with shame and guilt--that are hindering my development and contributing to my depression and anxiety. Deena not only listens with an open mind but also gives me the tools I can use to recognize and deal with my problems. Wonderful therapist.

My favorite part of therapy with Deena is that she listens, never judges, and give me solutions to help me sort out my own problems. It's like, I'm such a mess I couldn't figure out where to start. It's been a great help to resolve problems/behaviors that I didn't know I had.

After even just one session, Deena has already shown me more guidance and help than I've been able to receive in a year of trying to figure things out on my own. She's kind, receptive, and always makes sure you're comfortable with what you're sharing. I would recommend her to anyone.

This app has helped me a lot and I really loved meeting Deena. I feel like she and I clicked right away and I'm excited to continue my sessions with her. She's been an excellent listener and has made me feel very secure in sharing my day to day troubles with her.
