About Me

Greetings and welcome! I am excited to work with you. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Rehab Counselor for NYS. I been working in the field of mental health and addiction counseling for about 10 years now. I have experience addressing an array of presenting needs including life transitions, depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, stress and self worth. I gained my early training in undergrad as a peer counselor for my university in addition to volunteering for the Long Island Crisis Center and Pride for Youth. I continued my education to attain my LMHC and interned in an inpatient drug treatment program. I have established a wide network over the years in both inpatient and outpatient settings treating many different life conditions.

If you have struggled with feeling stuck, discouraged or dissatisfied, indecisive, lack confidence, personal addiction or a family/friend with an addiction, meeting/identifying goals, relationships, work issues, and/or other life challenges then let’s explore these challenges together to either cope and/or empower you to make decisions in support of the life you want to live! YOU deserve it. My approach offers both support and insight to help you in your journey. Together, we can get clear on your goals for the life you want to live!

My approach has always been person centered with a focus on building self-empowerment. My experience includes developing healthy thinking patterns, overcoming fears/habits, removing barriers and healing. I offer both individual and tele-sessions at a reasonable rate.

Take the first step. You do not need to face these matters or issues alone. There is hope! And healing can start today. You can make the difference by investing in yourself now. It might be scary, but there is no need to stay stuck! Reach out to see if I am a good fit for you. I am excited to work with you!

Dena has always acted in a professional, friendly manner and tailors the whole experience to my needs. She's responsive and puts me at ease quickly, offering ideas to explore and activities to do in order to support me. It's been extremely insightful and she recognises emotions and feelings, helping me to explore these in a safe, non critical way.

Dena is so compassionate and attentive, I truly look forward to speaking to her. I liked her immediately, but after having multiple sessions with her, I only continue to feel that more strongly. I feel comfortable speaking freely, and feel heard and understood. She has all the attributes I would seek in a counselor, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with her.
