About me
Hello. My name is Dessie Faulkner. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Board Certified Telemental Health provider. I have been practicing for over thirty years providing counseling services for individuals, couples and families from all walks of life struggling with the challenges that often come our way. I received my master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. I have experience working in private practice, medical social services, and with military populations. My experience includes issues related to depression, anxiety, grief and loss, overcoming abuse and assisting couples with relationship issues such as intimacy, communication and conflict resolution.
I believe in treating people with dignity and respect and this is reflected in my style and approach to counseling. I use primarily a cognitive behavioral approach assisting others in talking about their issues and struggles, identifying their strengths, and empowering them to move forward. Solution focused approaches also assisting others in becoming pro-active; gaining the tools they need to heal and find a more fulfilling and happier life.
When I’m not working, I enjoy music, art, faith and spending time with family and friends. I am married with two sons and two grandsons that keep us busy with everyday life happenings.
I look forward to working with you and assisting you in finding healing and happiness.
