About me

I am a licensed counselor in Oregon with 15 years of professional work experience. Areas of competence include individual counseling and consultation for people struggling with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life transitions, gambling addiction, and other various life issues. As a therapist I strive to be authentic, compassionate, intuitive, and engaging. I view therapy as a relationship in which we work together to help you find access to your inner resources and resilience. I facilitate a secure environment where you can feel deeply valued and safe with your emotions. I approach each person as an individual with a body, a mind, and a soul. I view painful or challenging aspects of life as doorways to learning rather than as signs of sickness needing to be cured.
My intention is to facilitate not advice, not to prescribe solutions, but to assist you in using your own personal resources to examine your difficulties and the choices you have for dealing with those difficulties. I encourage you to find your natural strengths that can help you heal. With confidentiality and respect for your own perception of experience, you will be supported and guided towards finding your own solutions. You determine your own needs, as I believe you to be the expert on yourself. I bring my expertise to the counseling process, but ultimately you decide what you find useful and what you do not. In this way you need never feel out of control with your own personal therapy.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
