Dianne Brown, LCMHC
About me
Hello, Thanks for taking a look at my profile. My name is Dianne Brown, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor LCMHC. I have been a mental health practitioner for over two decades. My career began in the school system as a teacher after receiving my BS from Northeastern University in Boston. While teaching I realized I enjoyed the one to one counseling relationship with my students and pursued my Master’s degree in Counseling at UMASS Boston. I stayed in the school system as a teacher and guidance counselor for several more years, then went on to work solely in mental health. My counseling career began in 2000 when I earned my license to practice mental health. I worked in community mental health until 2005, when I opened my private practice, where I have worked ever since.
I love what I do and am shifting my focus to online therapy to reach a broader population and to allow more clients to seek therapy in the comfort of their own home. The connection between a therapist and client is one of the biggest factors for success. I meet my clients where they are and work collaboratively, at their pace, to make them feel safe and supported. I know that there is no one-size-fits-all therapy, so I draw from a variety of therapeutic interventions in my sessions. Meeting clients online aids in more clients to seek services without fear of judgment. I believe on line therapy will help with client compliance and is the direction we are moving towards in our future.
Over the years, I realized the complexity of psychological and emotional issues, involving not only our thought processes but also our energetic, spiritual and physical well-being, and the inter-connectedness. I have spent the last 15 years acquiring the skills of complementary therapies and techniques to deepen the healing experience. I take an integrated approach to therapy. I am client centered and humanistic.
I am a Nationally Certified Counselor trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have several hours of post graduate training in addiction, trauma, women’s issues, and I am Diplomat in Comprehensive Energy Psychology utilizing Meridian Based Therapies, Mindfulness, Breath work and Yoga. These interventions blend the best of cognitive therapy with the wisdom of our bodies, allowing us to heal issues at a core level. I completed EMDR training February 2020 and Integrative Medicine and Nutrition for Mental health Practitioners in November 2020.
I look forward to working with you and helping you navigate along the path to wellness.

Dianne helped during a difficult period when I was overwhelmed with self-doubt, anxiety, and depression. With her understanding and encouragement, I was able to set daily and weekly goals and try to achieve them. I highly recommend her!
