Hello, my name is Dianne Feria. I am an experienced pscyhotherapist in the State of Texas. I have worked with a variety of clients in a variety of settings. I started my career in the mental health field working at my local jail which opened up my eyes to the mental health challenges of this community. Here, I worked with issues including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, chemical dependence, incest, sexual trauma, and psychosis. I was able to practice the skill of being present with my clients, working with the limitations of their situation, yet helping them increase their coping skills, identifying their triggers, and increase their frustration tolerance. Most important for this population, I was able to help them address their trauma, which many times, played a role in the negative actions that lead them to their legal predicament. I later moved on to working with women and children of domestic violence. I learned the most important thing I can do for this population was listen and empower. This, I carried with me to all my future sessions to this day.
I have also worked in behavioral hospitals and crisis centers where I honed my skills in deescalating crisis situations, solidified my assessment skills, as well as strenghtened my knowledge base on community and national resources. My outpatient experience is what I fondly remember most of all. I throughly enjoyed working with clients in an individual, family, and couple setting. Here, the issues I was able to assist were both diverse and challenging. I've worked with individual diagnosed with personality disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and disociative identity disorder. I was able to apply all therapeutic skills in this setting as well as grow as a person and therapist. I am excited to take this new journal in my career inassisting you overcome the challenges you're experiencing today,
I am a psychodynamic therapist who integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT) and Solution focused therapy (SFBT) in my sessions. I look into the dynamics of your relationships and your family of origin to help you gain insight on your beliefs, thoughts, and actions. . I use SFBT to help my clients identify current behaviors and strengths that they have utilized in the past which may apply to the current situation and use CBT to encourage my clients practice new skills and behaviors. It is in the process of self-reflection and the application of behavior that we can elicit change and therefore happiness in our lives, which I believe you deserve. I will be here to support, guide, encourage and assist you in the process of discovering and empowering yourself.

Based on Dianne's profile I had a feeling she would be a great fit for me and she was. Speaking with her has been very helpful. She is a great listener and challenges me to think as we speak. I am very comfortable to be open in our sessions. She sets a open and inviting tone which makes it easy to talk to her! I am grateful for taking this step to get the assistance I needed. It doesn't feel like therapy more so just a different outlook on addressing life's issues.

Dianna Feria seems to heavily rely on Rogerian therapeutic principles. I’m sure there is much more below the surface in her vast toolbox but when done well I believe the three necessary and sufficient conditions of Dr Rogers is ALL that is needed. I’ve never known a psychotherapist to give such consistent concentration during all of the session. She is a Godsend.

Dianne is able to communicate her ideas in a respectful and empathetic way. She balances different concerns such as practicalities and the work needed to take care of myself. I always grow and learn during our sessions, and, with her help, challenge myself in a safe space to tackle my issues. Her therapy style, CBT and psychoanalysis, works extremely well for me. I also love that she gives me concrete exercises and activities to work on as well as ways to apply them to real problems I am facing. She is extremely responsive so I always feel that I can turn to her when I need to. I highly recommend Dianne!

I have been speaking with Dianne for a few weeks now. When she was recommended to me, what stood out immediately was her skills and vast experience that was shown in the introductory profile.
I had bad experiences with therapists in my country in the past so I was a little cautious, Dianne's professionalism was evident from the first message she sent me, her responses and her sessions.
I was able to figure out the answer to age old questions that I have had through her guidance and her style of delving into the past to address the issues experienced today.
I feel a lot more in charge of my life and I feel blessed to have been given such a rare opportunity to speak with someone as talented as Dianne. This has made me realize that therapy with BetterHelp was the right decision.
The only problem is that I wish that I can continue to utilize the site for the long-term as I admire this initiative and I do believe that therapy is a vital part of a successful life. Having someone who I feel I am accountable to (e.g. a therapist) makes me want to be less mean to myself and try harder to improve in spite of my traumas. When I was doing this alone, it was too easy to fall back into old habits as there was no one but myself to hold me accountable.
I'm thinking hard about how I can continue this but with the cost, (which is equivalent to the disposable part of my current salary) I'm not sure...
I will keep trying to see how I can manage though.

Dianne is the best therapist I’ve ever had, and I love her approach! She’s amazing and has helped me so much, just so empathetic and feels like I’m talking to a real person. In the past with therapists it feels like there’s a bit of a detachment and I’m being fired with questions but not getting much back, but with Dianne it’s a real dialogue and she’s a super warm person.

Advice for Dianne, have her come up with a plan or program of action that is practical and applicable to push for the client's improvement. (In which both the client and counselor work together to develop a program that benefits the clients specific needs). Suggest her being consistent with follow-ups of accountability on sticking to the implemented plan. For example, in regards to the physical therapy there are drills and routines that are necessary to heal and improve mobility. Just like in PT, also have her come up with exercises or routines that focuses on areas of mental/emotional/spiritual health therapy. In which the clients goes and does homework and applies those emotional/reflective exercises.
