About me

I am licensed in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have been in practice for the last five years. I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2012 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have a wide variety of experience to include: working in a psychiatric inpatient facility, intensive outpatient programs, private practice, and a drug and alcohol rehab.

I am a Christian Counselor, I do not force my beliefs on others and will not speak of it unless it is important to my client. My primary therapy orientation is existential counseling, which focuses on helping others with life purpose, goals and the meaning of life. I also draw upon cognitive behavioral therapy, which helps people with managing their thoughts and emotions. I strongly believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is paramount for client growth. I maintain that therapy should be an authentic experience, and the client’s need to be heard, valued, and understood is primary. I see my role as as a therapist helping you facilitate your growth. I provide feedback, understanding, empathy and tools to assist you in your journey. I also believe that gaining insight into one’s own self, relationships and life situation to be very important to help with change.

I understand that each individual is not an illness or label, most people seek to live a good life, but at times have struggles that seem insurmountable. For this reason, I try my best, as renowned psychotherapist Irvin Yalom puts it, to “create a new therapy for each client.” I use theory and techniques from CBT/REBT, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychoeducation, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

I only work with adults in individual counseling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, some substance use, relationship issues, career concerns, coping skills, life transitions, and life coaching.

My passion lies in assisting people to find their authentic self and to improve their relationships. In individual or couples’ counseling, whether one’s unhappiness stems from mental health issues or life circumstances, it is my goal to assist people find their life purpose and to create goals for themselves.
