About me

My name is Edward, I am from Upstate NY. I have a degree in music therapy, counseling, and clinical psychology, and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have experience providing in- home services with children, adolescents, and families. I have also worked in a forensic setting for 20 years in the State of California and have worked with clients who had either or both developmental disabilities and mental illness.

Regarding my treatment approaches, I have skills and training in behavior therapy, humanistic therapy, person centered therapy, and solution based therapy. I am currently working on getting board certified in EMDR, and hypo-therapy within the next year.

I am currently retired and wish to start a private practice which includes providing psychotherapy/counseling to various consumers through tele medicine (part-time). I am a member of the LGBTQ community and hope to serve and support LGBT individuals who would prefer working with an LGBTQ therapist.

My areas of clinical interest include but not limited to serving those with: mild to moderate depression and or anxiety, victims of trauma, individuals with other mood or thought disorders, those experiencing life-changes, and those experiencing job related stressors and or employment issues. I am willing to provide tele-behavioral medicine to individuals, couples, and families.

My hobbies and recreational interests include, fish-keeping (fresh and saltwater aquariums), health and exercise activates, volunteer activities to assist the homeless, and going to Renaissance Fairs.

Dr. Cerny, is caring and understanding by listening carefully and taking notes of our conversation. That shows a sense of connection between his patients and importance for what he does.
