Dr. Elizabeth Chavez-Palacios, LPC
About me
My name is Dr. Elizabeth Chavez-Palacios. I have served the residents of Texas as professional counselor (LPC) for over 14 years. During that time, I have worked with people of all ages, but my main area of concentration for several years were individuals with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. I have extensive history working with folks who are under community supervision/probation, parole and/or those with CPS (child protective services) history. In addition to that, I have also worked with families and parents of child with behavioral problems. I am a provider of comprehensive mental health services, including but not limited to ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, oppositional defiant disorder/conduct disorder and the parents of children/adolescents with behavioral issues.
I have completed various trainings, including treating suicidality and self-harm, advanced techniques (i.e. DBT), and as well as specialized training and certifications as a Clinical Military Counselor and Clinical Trauma Professional and as a Rehabilitation Counselor. Furthermore, I provide bilingual services (English/Spanish).
My counseling style is eclectic, as I approach each client holistically and take a very active approach to assessing the needs and expectations of our time in counseling, together. My approach includes client-centered, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy , Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I would consider myself as empathetic and genuine but up-front with my clients. I don't "sugar-coat" things and I definitely don't "beat around the bush" - as that never helps anyone.
I understand seeking help isn't easy and setting up an appointment is even harder, but I know that once we begin working together, we can open up the way for a New Dawn for you and your loved ones. Reach out...take a chance....what's the worst that can happen?? :-)

I love Dr. Chavez-Palacios. She has been a great help with dealing with my issues and starting to make progress. I wish I was able to better afford more therapy at this moment but I couldn't

Dr. Chavez-Palacios is such an inspiration! I am very honored to have been paired up with her. Her approach in our therapy sessions is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a therapist. I walk away learning something new after each session. She has genuinely made a positive impact on my life. I look forward to the continued growth I will experience while working with her. She is not only knowledgeable but she challenges me to be the best version of myself! I know if there’s anything I need I can reach out and she’ll respond in a timely manner.
