About me

Welcome to Better Help! I am so glad you are here. You have taken the first step towards being a healthier happier you.
My name is Elizabeth Hansen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the states of Illinois, California and Georgia. I earned my Masters degree from the University of Southern California in 1993 and since then, have worked in a variety of settings with individuals and families. I have had experience working with a broad range of clinical issues. Some of these include working with those who have experienced trauma (such as physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect), anxiety, depression, parenting issues and I have a special interest in working with military families. In my 17 years of practice, I have learned that one of the most important factors to successful therapy, is the trusting relationship you have with your therapist. Having someone outside of your family and circle of friends that you can confide in and share ideas with is one of the important components of therapy. I hope that after talking, you will feel confident that I can be that person for you. When we work together, I want you to feel heard and accepted as you are. We will work together as a team to determine the best goals for you. I would describe my style as warm and supportive and I use an eclectic approach to tailor treatment to your specific needs.
You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. I usually check messages twice per day, 7 days a week. I offer live chat, messaging and phone sessions. Please note that what you see on my calendar might not reflect my only availability so please check with me through messaging if you don’t see an appointment that works for you. I offer limited evening and weekend hours.
I look forward to working with you.

Whenever I feel like I have no where to turn or talk to someone about what’s going on. I immediately think of Elizabeth. She has been there every week & always checking in. It’s been really healthy for me to have someone to listen and offer advice for what’s going on with me. I feel safe, I like that I can share what’s going on with someone who isn’t a family member or friend. It allows me to be vulnerable in ways that I couldn’t be with friend or family.
