About me

Welcome!

Are you in physical, existential, spiritual, or emotional pain?

Elizabeth Teklinski, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, BC-TMH employs a Palliative Care philosophy and provides integrative, holistic counseling through an integral psychology lens that explores pathways to healing and transformation, which include physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of health and wellbeing. She also provides professional coaching services (specializing in helping targets of workplace bullying and narcissistic abuse) throughout Michigan, the United States, Canada, and worldwide.

Since 2019, Dr. Teklinski has been training with renowned speaker and bestselling author, Dr. Gabor Maté, in his therapeutic approach called Compassionate Inquiry (CI). Dr. Maté is a palliative care physician with extensive knowledge of the latest findings of leading-edge research in childhood development and trauma and their potential lifelong impacts on physical and mental health, including on autoimmune disease, cancer, ADHD, addictions, and a wide range of other conditions.

Compassionate Inquiry

· seeks to reveal that which lies beneath the appearance a person presents to the world;

· unveils core beliefs, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories, coping mechanisms, and states.

· recognizes the unconscious dynamics that run a person’s life and how to liberate oneself from them as well as identifying with their false selves;

· is about restoring our wholeness and identifying with and recovering our true selves;

Elizabeth believes that transformation is possible in the context of a safe and trusting relationship and that your soul already knows what it needs to heal.

In November 2020, Dr. Teklinski will be certified and trained by Drs. Gary and Ruth Namie, renowned international experts on workplace bullying who bring a powerful and unique perspective to transforming organizational cultures, embodying Authentic Leadership, and overcoming power dynamics and toxic work environments. Dr. Teklinski has special experience consulting with nurses and healthcare providers.

Dr. Teklinski is an author, speaker, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Spiritual Care Advisor who has spent much of her career in Hospice and Palliative Care working with existential distress around fear of death and dying and other life transitions. She continues to offer counseling for chronic health conditions, pregnancy/infant loss, trauma, terminal illness, depression, anxiety, complex-PTSD, and stress management.

Elizabeth attended the University of Michigan for her undergraduate degree in secondary education; Western Michigan University for her master's degree in counseling; and received her doctorate in East-West Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS).

East-West Psychology (EWP) is a multidisciplinary department concerned with the meeting of Eastern, Western, and Indigenous psychological and spiritual traditions, practices, theologies, and world views. As an academic field, EWP constitutes a larger context for many disciplines that explore the interface of psychology, philosophy, and spirituality.

Her doctoral dissertation, titled "A Matter of Heart and Soul: Towards an Integral Psychology Framework for Postconventional Development," focused on advanced adult development beyond Piaget’s formal operational stage and was informed by Integral Yoga Psychology (of Aurobindo Ghose and Mirra Alfassa) and the concept of a personal ontological referent (“Chaitya Purusha” or an evolutionary soul) as a facilitative agent to the higher reaches of human development.

Generally, postformal, or ”post-conventional”, development describes the very rare stages of human development committed to larger ethical concerns often associated with excellence, authenticity, maturity, moral integrity, constructive generativity, social responsibility, and individual agency and autonomy. Scholars recommend that society needs more such visionaries who can anticipate and creatively adapt to changing contingencies and life circumstances. As the speed and reach of global change and challenge increase, it becomes more urgent for society, and especially leaders, to develop postconventional capacities and meaningful pathways to authenticity.

Despite an apparently vast range of higher development, researchers themselves have been quick to point out that only a very small portion of the human population will likely ever evolve into the postconventional tier—most familiarly known as Maslow’s self-actualization. Accepting the argument that such stages exist, Kohlberg estimated that approximately 2.5 percent of the general adult population would exceed conventional development levels.

Elizabeth's Mission:
• Promote psychospiritual growth and development, loving relationships, authenticity, interpersonal empowerment, and self-healing;
• Utilize holistic, compassionate, and individualized mental health interventions; and
• Bring the best in therapeutic care to client's with integrity, lack of judgment, and an authentic abiding presence who wants to know and understand you and your unique gifts.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Elizabeth Teklinski. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

She has helped me so much!! I had someone else when I first started and felt very pushed off.

She usually responds to me with in the hour. When I started working with her I was having multiple panic attacks per day and has such bad anxiety and depression. This was my last try at trying to fix things. Everything went wrong this year and had family issues, relationship issues, step parenting issues, lost my job, almost lost my Boyfriend and step kids.

I was at the lowest I’ve been, she has helped me work threw it by telling me I was worth and my feeling are valid. Also always encouraged me to share my true feelings.
Helped me patch things up with my family
My boyfriend and made me feel better and understand how I need to care for my self and not everyone else.
Things are still hard and I have more work to do but I can’t even believe how much better I am and I can cope with a situation now. Very limited panic attacks and for while I even stopped my meds for anxiety.

I almost have up on this program but I am glad I decided to try a new Counsellor. Changed my life!
